Lana Geraskina who is a freelance graphic designer lives in the Ukraine and works with multiple clients in Amsterdam and France. She is attentive to her clients’ wishes and meets her deadlines because she values the company’s needs and goals. Sometimes, there are several meetings and stages with design packages and projects that AI may not decode correctly.   Geraskina feels that people are capable of valuing emotions—the high level of stress and desires for a business to operate—which a machine cannot comprehend. She states: Different tasks require different skills, experience, analytical knowledge and creativity for the right situation.  AI cannot build years of trust, stability, and relationships.

Artists tend to borrow different ideas from other artists and will create new formats or mediums from a variety of works such as film to stage, novel to a series, and video game to a film or series.

There are a variety of art formats which work better than novels than films—so-called adaptations that can be reviewed as a success or a failure.  Musicians are often ostracized for remixing beats and arrangements for new songs and albums, and writers as well as graphic designers could be shamed for claiming words and images as their own. We all know that cheating and stealing are unacceptable in any field or life situation.

So, when artists cannot meet deadlines or if they have creative blocks, they might utilize AI (artificial intelligence) to design or craft a new work. For some, this may be considered a harmless route to avoid plagiarism, copyright, and stealing. To pinpoint what “this” meaning– AI can be defined and computed in multiple ways as beneficial or harmful to artists.

There is definitely a consensus for which AI is acceptable and nonacceptable for artists to use pertaining to original works. Most artists feel that software features such as design assets, color palettes, toolbars, docks, and storage that allow an artist to create freely are considered acceptable.  Even asking AI such as ChatGPT for some prompts or suggestions could be reasonable for brainstorming or drafting ideas. However, there are unethical practices where artists have used AI that closely resemble plagiarism, fake news, and propaganda.

So, avoiding these nonacceptable practices are in the best interest of artists to be seen as well-respected visionaries. They should continue to develop and create their own ideas they generate from their own experiences, inspirations, and epiphanies.

According to Forbes, Some marketers think AI cannot provide the innovative edge needed to compete, as it relies on existing data and is thus limited in its out-of-the-box solutions.

So, if software or computer programs can provide clients the tools to generate images needed for a website, then why would they hire a graphic designer?  Well, there are complications with AI to accommodate the complexity of projects clients need to build a website and create a brand package. So, hiring a graphic designer as opposed to an AI assistant is better in the long run.
